paulchow Cats and Dogs, Events
Moon Rabbit Lumiere
Although the rabbits are sure to delight with their cuteness, there is also a stern ecological message at play: on Parer’s continent, rabbits are literally an intruder– pests which Australia has combated since they were introduced by 18th century European settlers.
A new exhibition, the “Moon Rabbit Lumiere”, jointly presented by Lee Tung Avenue and China Hong Kong City. Together with world-renowned Australian artist Amanda Parer, the two venues are going to showcase 10 giant “Moon Rabbits” that have appeared in over 80 cities and 40 international arts festivals and event spaces.
This world-class art installation has been viewed by as many as six million people worldwide already.
Wagging Tails
After feeding Ah Wong and the New Comer for a week, we are warmly greeted by wagging tails and the ‘Feed Me Now, Human’: “Meow! Meowww!” as we go up the Bowen Drive in the morning.
Moon Rabbit
Giant ‘Moon Rabbit’ art installation lands in Hong Kong for the first time! China Hong Kong City and Lee Tung Avenue jointly present work of Australian artist Amanda Parer this Mid-Autumn Festival.
As people are getting ready for the full moon and some romantic time this Mid-Autumn Festival – one of the most celebrated occasions in Hong Kong, the ‘Moon Rabbit’ was being set up at the Lee Tung Avenue this morning after Mangknut left Hong Kong.

The Morning After
paulchow Cats and Dogs, Events
Super Typhoon Mangkhut, the strongest in wind speed to hit Hong Kong, buffeted the city with monstrous winds, waves and floods yesterday. The Hong Kong Observatory hoisted the first No 8 signal of the year at 1.10am yesterday as Mangkhut approached. It raised it to No 9 six hours later and to the highest, No 10, at 9.40am, during which Mangkhut slowed from a super typhoon to a severe typhoon. No 10 stayed up until 7.40pm, when it was lowered to No 8.
We went up the Bowen Drive this morning as usual after a day of rest to find no trace of Ginger but only fallen trees and leaves everywhere. As we were near Bowen Garden we found the new comer meowing to us asking for food. We gave her a whole can of fish and some dry food. She must be very hungry that she finished all in no time.
Floriade Canberra
Floriade is Australia’s biggest celebration of spring. This iconic Canberra event will run from Saturday 15 September until Sunday 14 October 2018. We were there in 2016 travelling from Sydney Central Station to Canberra by taking Murrays Coaches. It has been one of our most memorable experience. Wish that we can be there again next year!
Here are a collection of photos taken in Floriade 2016:
The New Comer
This lovely stray cat, used to live somewhere near Bowen Road Garden, recently moved to the hillside along the upper part of Bowen Drive. Mrs. Lam, a cat lover who feeds the cats here every morning, asked me a few days ago to feed the cats on her behalf as she had to take a urgent trip out of Hong Kong. Here are photos showing the cats enjoying their breakfast this morning.
The Little Prince – 75th Anniversary
Few stories are as widely read and as universally cherished by children and adults alike as The Little Prince, first published in April 1943, a novella, the most famous work of French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
Lee Tung Avenue has launched a French wedding campaign under the theme of ‘Vintage Wedding Garden with The Little Prince’ from 26 July to 26 August 2018 with a series of events theming with The Little Prince.
The Little Prince has his rose, so do you and I. Have you treat your rose wholeheartedly? “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the
eyes. Men have forgotten this truth.” Said the fox to The Little Prince. I really hope that you have not forgotten this truth?
2018 (Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival)
