A Cat Called Benji
According to the FB, Benji has become a new member of the Phoenix Animal Clinic in Moon Street since July 2015, which started about 20 years ago and is now operated by Dr. Tom, an Australian Vet, and Dr. Kathryn. Dr. Tom once told me, Benji was left at the door of his clinic by his former owner and he kept him in his clinic.
We used to see him lying on a couch inside the clinic every morning before opening hours. When we walked by, he usually jumped down from the couch and stared and meowed at us. One day early in the morning, we saw Benji lying on the floor inside the clinic motionless with some vomitus or faecal matter by his side. We called him several times but with no avail. There must be something wrong with him, we thought. Immediately we informed the security guard to call back Dr. Tom, who gave him an injection and Benji came around. Dr.Tom told us that Benji had been suffering from some kind of heart disease and it was lucky that he came back early that Benji’s life was saved. Ever since the incident, we had seen him only one or twice when he came out to the alley adjacent to the clinic to play with his friend, an old lady living nearby.
However, in recent years we seldom see Benji again! We miss him much!!!
